Get ready to get in shape with Sony’s EYE TOY: KINETIC, an Eye Toy game that encourages players to work through a number of different aerobic exercises. Developed with input from fitness masters from Nike Motionworks, Kinetic is full of cardio exercises that will help combat the couch potato habits many gamers develop. The game allows players either to do exercises on their own as they want or to set up and participate in a 12-week aerobic training course. With the Eye Toy, instead of just doing aerobics along with the video on the screen, players have to actually kick, hit, and interact with objects in the game. This allows the game to point out when players aren’t quite doing the exercise correctly and gives them feedback on how many calories they are burning. The 12-week training course is based on player’s age, weight, and a few other factors. These workouts are custom designed, and players can also tweak them a bit if they are limited on time or space. The game does keep track of how many workouts a player does, though, so players can’t just skip over exercises they don’t like. Missing too many workouts will result in a scolding by the virtual trainer. Kinetic has 22 different exercising games, each of which focuses on a specific type of workout like cardio or toning. Gamers looking for a fun way to exercise will like the way Kinetic sets up the workouts and encourages gamers to enjoy exercising.
